AIMS

The capabilities approach has been increasingly applied in the field of ICT4D. This workshop acknowledges this growing interest and brings together key experts who have published in this area with practitioners who are trying to apply the approach in their work. The aim is to

  1. identify what has been achieved, in research and practice, on this conceptual and methodological frontier
  2. reflect on the ongoing challenges and questions which remain to be addressed.

DRAFT PROGRAM

  • Introduction by organizing committee (5 minutes)
  • Quick introductions of all participants (20 min.)
  • Introduction discussion topics by 3 practitioners and 3 academics (30 min.) – see below
  • Group conversations in 6 groups on topics (30 min.)
  • Short reports and plenary discussion (30 min.)
  • Drinks and informal discussions
