4TU.Ethics Research day 2022

September 14 @ 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM CEST

This year, the Research Day will have a relatively open character, allowing members to meet each other, discuss work with peers, write, read, and develop new ideas. Kasteel Montfoort is an ideal venue for this, as it offers ample opportunities to take walks and find quiet places to engage in research, but also allows for plenary discussions and workshops.

Preliminary Program for the Research Day

10:15 – 10:30 Opening by Prof. Marcel Verweij

*Given the open character of the research day, there will not be a structured lunch with formal seating arrangements. Rather, we will offer a buffet where people can take and enjoy lunch whilst walking, writing, reading, workshopping, etc. Coffee, Tea, and other refreshments will of course be available throughout the day.

All 4TU.Ethics members are welcome to register for the Research Day. Please use the following link to complete your registration:

Please register before 14-08-2022

Proposals for workshops

We have room for up to 8 workshops (approximately 50 mins, longer workshops might be possible, depending on how many proposals we receive). We welcome proposals concerning any topic related to Ethics and Technology, on condition that the proposal is authored by members from at least two of the four TU’s. Please send a brief outline of the topic of your workshop (±350 words); the maximum number of participants; and envisaged duration, to . We hope to receive a broad spectrum of topics, since this would not only foster collaborations, but also help new members get a perspective on which themes are currently addressed by 4TU.Ethics members and institutes. Please send your proposals before 10-07-2022.

Kasteel Montfoort is easily accessible by car (5 minutes from the A2 and A12 highways) and public transport (bus stop next to the castle).

Since we hope that many of you are interested in optimally using the Research Day to read and write, we can imagine that you would like to arrive a day in advance. Although this would be at your own expense, we recommend the following hotels:  Hotel Montfoort (Montfoort)  Het Torentje aan de IJssel (Montfoort) BroeckOudewater (Oudewater) Hotel Over de Brug (Haastrecht) Best Western City Hotel Woerden (Woerden) Hotel Epping (IJsselstein)

We hope to welcome you all on the 14th of September! Please direct any questions or comments to
