I am a philosopher working at Eindhoven University of Technology and Tilburg University. In Eindhoven I work as a postdoc researcher on the project Medical Trust Beyond Clinical Walls within the Department for Philosophy & Ethics. In Tilburg I am a lecturer within the Department of Philosophy.
My academic interests cover a wide range of philosophical topics, including free agency, selfhood, morality, responsibility, consciousness, and the philosophy of health care (both somatic and mental health care). I have developed a theory of the psychological nature of normative reasons for action in my PhD thesis The Normative Will (Tilburg University 2012). I have also published a textbook on free will, Vrije wil: Discussies over verantwoordelijkheid, zelfverwerkelijking en bewustzijn (Lemniscaat 2011, with Tjeerd van de Laar), which is currently being used in Dutch highschools.
