Philip Brey, professor of philosophy of technology at the University of Twente, has received a Facebook Research Award of US $ 25,000. The award is an unrestricted gift from Facebook administered through its Research and Academic Relations Program. It aims to support Prof. Brey’s research on philosophy and ethics of information and communication technology and Artificial Intelligence.
Facebook writes: “We are very excited about your research and hope that you will use these funds to continue your great work.”
Prof. Brey intends to use the award to provide him with extra time to complete journal articles and a book on the ethics of artificial intelligence.
